2007 was the year that the banks discovered the sub-prime black hole and found themselves powerless to prevent themselves being sucked in. In the UK Northern Rock was the standout casualty of that year. At Sibos there was a buzz in the air but I'll bet not many foresaw the events that were to happen a year later.
